NLight has announced the sales of 1,600 pieces 1,200 watt LED fixtures to Van Oers Fruit, one of the leading strawberry growers in the Netherlands. The project covers a total greenhouse area of 3 ha, making it one of the larger LED lighting projects within the Dutch soft fruit sector.
The selected fixtures are equipped with a carefully optimized light spectrum consisting of 88% red, 6% green, and 6% blue, supplemented with 6% far-red. This spectrum perfectly aligns with the high-quality and production standards required by Van Oers Fruit.
A distinctive feature of the NLight solution is its built-in spectrum flexibility. In addition to the standard 88/6/6 configuration with 6% far-red, the fixtures offer the ability to dynamically shift the spectrum to 83% red, 6% green, and 11% blue, with 6% far-red. This flexibility allows growers to adjust the lighting recipe at any time according to the crop, season, or specific cultivation objectives.
The sold 1,200W fixtures are part of NLight's RV series, developed for high efficiency, uniform light distribution, and multi-channel control. The fixtures deliver high light output and support individual channel control through wireless Bluetooth Mesh networks. In addition, NLight also supplies spectrum sensors. These sensors ensure that the fixtures continuously deliver the desired spectrum without requiring the grower to monitor it throughout the day. According to Joost van Rooij of NLight, this is an absolute necessity.
