During Expo Levante 2026, a leading agricultural fair, Koppert delivered a technical presentation on managing one of the most important pests today: Thrips parvispinus.
The presentation, titled "Technical update for the biological control of Thrips parvispinus," delivered by Julián Giner, Technical Director of Koppert Spain, examined the pest's development and the most effective control strategies in today's context.

The presentation emphasized the rising pressure from thrips in horticultural crops and the importance of implementing biological control programs early in the crop cycle. Koppert highlighted the value of integrating various biocontrol methods within a preventive strategy tailored to each farm.
The participants learned about the different phases of the biological control protocol, including farm preparation, installation of reservoir plants, pest identification, and the release protocol: auxiliary and other cultural measures.
Giner also spoke about the main challenges faced by growers, including the reduction in available active materials and the emergence of new pests. These issues are prompting the adoption of more sustainable and effective strategies focused on biological control.
