Wood fiber and coir blend leads to new, sustainable substrate

US based FibreDust announces the release of Coir WTF 70/30. "The patent pending blend takes coir to the next level. We are blending wood fiber and coir at our factories and compressing the product for efficient global delivery in grow bags, grow cubes, disks, layflat slabs, and more.

"Fibredust is always working on new blends with growers and we are excited about the results we are seeing with our Coir WTF blend", said CEO Sam Ahilan. “Coir by its nature has an already high porosity and water holding capacity, by adding wood fiber we can increase both for better yield. We are already seeing greater fruit weight and total harvested in trials”. The WTF blend is shipping now and available in 4” and 6” grow cubes, 1,2,3, and 5 gal grow bags, .5 and 1 m grow slabs, and 5 kg blocks.

Fibredust is partnering with Profile products to create Coir WTF 70/30 with the HydraFiber product-a patented engineered fiber created through a cutting-edge thermal process. “The combination of HydraFiber and coir is a big win for the grower! The pairing of these two all-natural materials creates a unique, sustainable alternative growing media, which is also easy to compost and dispose of vs. Rockwool”, says Jeff Knape, HydraFiber.
