Strawberry grower Royal Berry has added six hectares of greenhouse. Construction started this spring, by summer the framework was ready for glazing and in the meantime the containers, filled with potting soil, are ready to be planted with new plants of the Malling Centenary variety this week.
An early cultivation as the strawberry grower expects that the first strawberries can be picked in mid-March 2020 already. More than two weeks earlier than usual, but that is necessary to provide customers with 'tasty, sweet, firm, and juicy strawberries' early in the season.
