In the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan, a large-scale greenhouse complex is scheduled to begin operations in August 2026. The project value is 42 billion tenge (approximately €77 million). Project Ecoculture-Eurasia is being implemented in the Keles district and, according to the regional administration, will become one of the largest closed agricultural industrial facilities in Kazakhstan.
The main production focus will be on tomatoes. At the initial stage, around 27,000 tonnes of produce have already been produced on an area of more than 51 hectares. The greenhouse area is planned to be expanded to 500 hectares in the future, with a target capacity of up to 240,000 tonnes per year by 2030, covering domestic demand and creating export volumes.
The facility will use greenhouse equipment supplied from the Netherlands. Production processes are designed to be automated, including systems controlling temperature, irrigation, lighting, and plant nutrition. Drip irrigation technology will be applied across cultivation zones.
The project is expected to generate more than 1,000 jobs, with additional employment growth planned as the facility reaches full capacity. Output will be supplied to the domestic market and exported, including shipments to regions in Russia such as Siberia and the Far East.
