Photo Report Berlin Fruit Logistica '16

The Fruit Ligistica, known as the world's most important event for fruit and vegetable trade, has become very important for the technical side of greenhouse vegetable production as well. This is due to the fact that over the last couple of years, an increasing amount of suppliers of greenhouse technology are exhibiting at the show to reach out to the growers that are visiting their trade partners and seed breeders there.

This development described above, has made the Fruit Logistica a very important event in the global greenhouse vegetable industry. Visitors and exhibitors from all over the world are now attending the event to not only see new developments in vegetable breeding, but also to catch up with many suppliers of technology. As well as this, they can learn from other international producers or simply get inspired by and introduced to new technologies.

The technology exhibits were mostly gathered in the lower halls 4 to 7, but many suppliers of greenhouse technology could also be found in the halls from their country of origin; some supplies from the UK, Spain, Canada and Italy could be found under the patronage of their own halls. Most of the Dutch suppliers of greenhouse technology could be found in hall 3.2; the Holland Hall. This year many Dutch suppliers united in the "Meet the smart Dutch -we can feed the city" forum. Also the German horticulture suppliers united; INDEGA was present with a special Pavilion in the German Hall. Another remarkable booth was the combined stand from a group of Italian suppliers; Arrigoni, Irritec, PATI and Luchinni who were present with a very high booth in hall 4.1. Danish climate control supplier Senmatic joined them as well.

Walking around the show we saw many familiar faces; visitors from Europe, but also from far away countries like Canada, the United States, Mexico, Malaysia, China, Australia and New Zealand. This made the 2016 edition of the Fruit Logistica a very good event for us. We are curious what the show will look like in the next years when its importance continues to grow like this.

The 2017 edition of the Berlin Fruit Logistica will take place on 8,9 & 10 February 2017. See also : www.fruitlogistica.de.
