Koppert launches smart decision-support tool for biological crop protection

Koppert has launched Timing Expert, an innovative new feature within the Koppert One app that helps growers determine the optimal timing for foliar applications of beneficial nematodes in outdoor crops.

Biological crop protection is a proven strategy in sustainable agriculture. However, application timing remains a critical factor for success. Beneficial nematodes (entomopathogenic nematodes) are highly effective natural enemies of pests, but their performance depends heavily on environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, solar radiation, rainfall, and wind.

Timing Expert addresses this challenge by combining Koppert's biological expertise with real-time and forecasted weather data. Using geolocation, the tool identifies the best foliar application windows for beneficial nematodes.

Growers receive the output in a clear format: ratings ranging from 'Poor' to 'Excellent', enabling them to instantly assess if conditions are suitable for foliar treatment.

"With Timing Expert, we combine our biological expertise with digital intelligence to turn data into practical, field-ready advice, wherever you are. It helps growers, consultants, and field researchers identify the optimal moment for foliar nematode applications, improving performance and delivering more consistent results in the field," says Cyrille Verdun, Global Product Portfolio Manager - Micro.

Timing Expert is available to everyone through the Koppert One app (free to download and use), reflecting Koppert's commitment to making digital innovation and biological expertise accessible to the wider agricultural community. Currently focused on foliar applications of beneficial nematodes, the tool will be expanded to include soil applications in future updates.
