AgroWorld Kazakhstan: poultry and greenhouses

This week, AgroWorld Kazakhstan is being held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. This exhibition is attended by representatives of various companies from many countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, USA, Russia and others.

Agrotech Didam and Prins Group are present together

Out of the 250 companies, a small part originates from the greenhouse industry - although the attention for the greenhouse building companies is not too high so far. "There are various vegetable focused visitors present, but the majority of the fair is about poultry", says Arthur Mkrtumian with Agrotech Didam. "We believe this market will grow, although it needs time and attention."

Marc Broeren is the present expert with Dalsem, available to address inquiries on challenging semi-closed greenhouse solutions.

Partner country
It might not come as a surprise, the Netherlands is partner country of the show. In total, there are over 30 Dutch companies presenting agriculture and food processing technologies. Moreover, The Netherlands today organises several workshop sessions in partnership with the Greenhouse Union of Kazakhstan, an organisation which was created in 2020 at the initiative of the leaders of large greenhouse complexes in Kazakhstan. The activities of the Union are aimed at developing the greenhouse business of the country, representing and protecting the interests of greenhouse farms in the legislative authorities.

Developing industry
The greenhouse industry of Kazakhstan has been actively developing since 2008. To date, more than 2,500 hectares of greenhouses have been registered in Kazakhstan, including 300 hectares of high-tech greenhouse complexes; they are mostly located in the southern region of the country. As of 2021, 204 out of 5517 greenhouse units registered in Kazakhstan are flower greenhouses. Nowadays, Kazakhstan is introducing new technologies for the construction and maintenance of greenhouses in different regions of the country.
