Video: Three segments optimize production in 1,4 hectare aromatic herbs greenhouse

The fully automated production line forms the heart of the new 1,4 ha greenhouse of French organic aromatic herbs producer Bioplants and the automated greenhouse, including heating and irrigation system, was built with that in mind.

"We're talking about a technically advanced integrated system and its design would not have been possible if the partners had not worked closely together, from design to delivery", says Angel Rodriguez with Bioplants, who revealed it took multiple years to complete the complicated design, consisting of three different, independent segments.

"For us, the challenge was integrating this automation with all of our equipment: broadly speaking heating, irrigation, and the greenhouse itself, particularly where benches passed through walls", says Davy D'abbundo with Richel.

Thanks to the carefully designed greenhouse, Bioplants has been able to produce up to 2.5 times more from the same acreage.
