Third phase for RockBerry: high-tech strawberry greenhouse in Armenia

Continuing their cooperation, Rock Berry LLC and Richel Group are presently launching the third phase of a strawberry greenhouse complex in Armenia.

Since 2018, Rock Berry LLC and Richel Group have completed two phases of a high-tech plastic strawberry greenhouse complex totaling 5 hectares. Equipped with all the necessary appliances and machinery, Rock Berry LLC produced 12kg of yield per square meter for the first year and subsequent yields of more than 14 kg with Murano.

In 2021, two more phases of the high-tech strawberry complex were projected, and by now, the construction works for the third phase have already been finished. When asked about the difficulties and constraints of the project, the director of the Rock Berry LLC, Mr. Boris Ghazaryan, responded:

"Last year was challenging for everyone. The Covid-19 pandemic and other difficulties in 2020 had a significant influence on our goals. Fortunately, together with Richel Group, we did all the possible to overcome the situation and accomplish the project efficiently."

This year, the collaboration expands into a fourth phase of another three-hectare high-tech strawberry greenhouse in Kamaris, Kotayk region. Once completed by the end of the year, the greenhouse will be fully operational, with the latest technologies for sustainable plant growth and development, including hanging gutters, protective screens, CO2 injection, photoperiodic lighting, etc.

"At Rock Berry LLC, we believe that good products are yielded through the use of solid technology, innovative approach, quality, and the continuous level of support. These are the qualities we look for in our partners," says Mr. Ghazaryan.

According to Mr. Ghazaryan, "the highest priority for Rock Berry LLC is the excellent quality and high standards of the finished product while preserving the environment. We excelled in preserving and promoting the strawberry of high value in Armenia and the international market, especially in Russia, by adhering to these values.

"Despite our race for productivity, there is no compromise on healthiness. All our production is grown using 100% biological protection. Our shared values should align with the expectations of our customers. Only by implementing this approach will we be able to deliver the highest quality products that our consumers are looking for in the market."

Rock Berry also serves an essential social function. Since its inception, it has contributed to stabilizing the local market and helping the local economy flourish by providing jobs for the local workforce, particularly for women. Having already offered more than 200 full-time workplaces to the local people, Rock Berry LLC hopes that this number will continue to increase.
