Iran: Ministry of Agriculture plans for developing 5800 hectares of greenhouse

Deputy director of horticulture of Ministry of Jihad-Agriculture announced the development plan of 5800 hectares of cultivation in controlled greenhouses by the end of March 2020, according to a report from the information center of the ministry of Jihad-Agriculture, Mohammad Ali Tahmasebi, in a meeting which was devoted to review the plans and policies of the Ministry for the construction of greenhouses.

He also added that 50 trillion riyals [1.5 billion USD] of bank facilities have been allocated to investment applicants, who wanted to create greenhouse complexes, which will be paid based on the norm of expenses in each province.

Ali Ashraf Mansouri, Managing Director of Iran's Agricultural Township Corporation, pointed out: "The development of greenhouses in the country is one of the most important programs of the ministry, and the most important program of resistance economy in the agricultural sector."

He also added: "It is imperative that all provincial officials, as well as considering the memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of the Interior, the governors as the highest executive of each province should have special attention to this important plan of the ministry of Jihad-Agriculture in developing of greenhouses in the country."
