A greenhouse facility in Atyrau, Kazakhstan, has initiated the year-round cultivation of strawberries, focusing on everbearing varieties to maintain a consistent supply throughout the season. The project was launched with the support of a regional agricultural development program.
Currently, the facility manages 2,000 plants, featuring the Albion, Murano, and Cabrillo varieties. These cultivars were selected for their ability to produce fruit continuously. The operation transitioned to its current scale following an initial experimental phase involving 200 plants used to refine cultivation techniques.
The producer indicated that the current results have met expectations, leading to plans for expansion. The goal is to double the production capacity to 4,000 plants to meet the rising local demand for fresh berries. Presently, the harvest is sold directly to a consistent customer base via digital platforms.
