"The Star Group not getting lost in the weed(s)"

As Canada moves toward legalization of recreational cannabis nationwide, The Star Group is moving in a different direction. Star has rejected any participation in the cannabis industry.

"We are approached weekly to get involved in the propagation, growing, and distribution of cannabis. It’s a hard NO for The Star Group. We are focused on fresh produce and Big Taste. We want to be creating great fresh produce products and that is our soul focus," said David Karwacki, CEO of The Star Group.

The Star Group has divested ownership in a vertical greenhouse that plans to get involved in the propagation of cannabis. "Weed just isn’t who we are or what we want to focus on. We want to deliver great products to the market place like pesticide free living lettuce. However people enjoy their greens is their own business," said Karwacki with a smile.
