Philippines: Urban residents urged to produce their own food

Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretaries Ariel Cayanan, Ranibai Dilangalen, Evelyn LaviƱa, and Bernadette Puyat, together with Vice Mayor Josefina Belmonte and officials of the Local Government of Quezon City launched the Pagkain Para sa Masa urban gardening project in Barangay Bahay Toro on May 31, 2017.

The food production initiative aims to encourage people living in urban areas to produce their own food to help attain the food sufficiency and sustainability goal of President Duterte.
