Turkey: Geothermal greenhouse planned for Konya

Konya Krom Magnesite Brick Industry Inc. is planning a Geothermal Resource Utilization, Thermal Facility, and Greenhouse Project in Inlice in the municipality of Meram in Konya, Türkiye. The planned project will include a 750-bed thermal hotel and a geothermal greenhouse with a land area of 347,600 m². Geothermal will provide heating both for the hotel and the greenhouse.

The license application has been reviewed by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, which issued a "No EIA Required" decision.

Previously licensed to AGN Petrol Inc. in 2013 but later revoked, the Konya Investment Monitoring and Coordination Presidency re-auctioned the site, awarding a new license to Konya Krom Magnesite Brick Industry in January 2023.

The 200-room thermal hotel will offer suites, deluxe, and family rooms, along with restaurants, a spa, a gym, a nightclub, pools, and wellness facilities. The geothermal-powered greenhouse will enhance agricultural production, utilizing thermal water first for heating, then for hospitality services.
