In 2015, Yigit began its ascent in the agribusiness sector and took over a total area of 1,000 hectares. In 2018, the first phase of the "GREENHOUSE" greenhouse complex was erected with an area of 100,000 m² and a production capacity of 3,600,000 kilograms of tomato varieties per year. Also in 2019, the construction of two more greenhouse complexes with a total area of 240,000 m² was completed. Following the successful realisation of the projects, the greenhouse complex was expanded to a further 400,000 m² in 2022.
"Yigit has 74 hectares of tomatoes under our management, but in next season we will expand this to 230ha. We grow our tomatoes in greenhouses, in the best areas of sunny Turkmenistan, Kahka which is 120 km from the capital city Ashgabat, also in Dushak,160 km from the capital city Ashgabat." said Muhammetaly Gurbangeldiyev from the company.
The main varieties are Marvelance and Medlis tomatoes on the vine, and the Juanita cherry tomato.
"Turkmenistan has good conditions for growing high quality products, I can say that our country has all the advantages and natural conditions and resources. Also for us labour is not a problem as our complexes are located close to crowded areas and villages."
Yigit grow tomatoes from October to June. The main export markets at the moment are Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
