Carton Pack's strategy highlighted in Berlin

"Sustainability leads to the right mix"

Packaging today is conceived of as a solution to various sustainability issues, such as environmental impact, functionality of use, ease of disposal, preservation of integrity, and product freshness.

"The key element on which Carton Pack develops its technological research is the maximum reduction of the impact that the packaging and its applications should have during the packaging's life cycle," Massimiliano Persico, corporate marketing executive, remarked.

Getting back from the international trade fair Fruit Logistica, the company's results are overwhelmingly positive.

"The event reconfirmed itself as the most important exhibition in the sector, and finally, after the long shutdown due to Covid, it recovered its space and importance," stated Persico. "Despite the important difficulties in the market, the experience has been satisfying and super motivating. The visitors were very interested in the paper and pulp novelties, and certainly, the trend that was most perceived was that towards a sustainable approach, also on the part of large-scale retailers."

"In addition to meeting our Italian and European customers, we had the opportunity to obtain new very important contacts, especially from large-scale European and even overseas retailers," stressed Persico.

Pulp punnets: the novelty
"Among the novelties presented during Fruit Logistica 2023 were pulp punnets. A valid eco-sustainable solution that offers excellent performance in terms of resistance to humidity. And being formed with cellulosic material, they are completely recyclable along with the paper. We presented two models, one more suitable for berries and tomatoes, the other more suitable for grapes," Persico pointed out.

"Sustainability leads to the right mix"
This is the headline that Carton Pack wanted to underline in clear letters on the walls of the stand at Fruit Logistica, to crown the vast display of products available in the various lines and ranges. Specifically, the sentence encapsulates what is the current driver of the company's development and represents its strategy for dealing with the important changes in the current market.

"It is aimed at communicating to our existing and potential customers that, with us, they can find the right partner to study together the most appropriate solutions, both for their needs and for those of the market, while finding from our side extreme availability, competence, and creativity," Persico said.

"The headline perfectly sums up the wide range of our production: a wide range of packs and raw materials that are synergistically adapted according to technical, commercial, exhibition, and transport contexts."

"For us, sustainability means using intelligent technologies to contain energy and raw material consumption, in order to safeguard the environment at every stage of the production and distribution chain - explained Persico - The choice of materials such as paper, cardboard, pulp, Social PlasticĀ®, rPET, and many other printed and customized film solutions, guarantee a wide range of possible solutions that 'mixed' in a balanced and coherent way, can solve every type of need of packaging."

Carton Pack has been committed for over 50 years to providing its customers with a fully integrated service, internally developing all packaging solutions from design to industrialization and production. Each packaging solution development project is calibrated according to the technical specifications required by the market.
