Oerlemans Plastics celebrates completion of new building

On Friday, November 4, in the Netherlands, the Altena municipality's mayor, Egbert Lichtenberg, officially opened Oerlemans Plastics' new building. The production and construction teams involved in this major project at De Rietdijk industrial park were there to share this momentous occasion. This new addition adds 8,800m2 of production and office facilities to this packaging manufacturer's current plant.

Mayor Lichtenberg literally put Oerlemans Plastics on the map at the opening.

These new premises mean the company can keep meeting the market's expected rising demand for sustainable, high-quality flexible plastic films and packaging. Oerlemans Plastics has been active in this market since 1972, and this addition will further boost its capacity as a producer and knowledge partner. The opening also kicked off the business' 50th anniversary year celebrations.

With the expansion, the company is making great strides regarding extrusion capabilities (manufacturing plastic film and packaging). It also brings new opportunities in the local and overseas markets. The focus is on making recyclable barrier packaging - a more sustainable alternative to packaging used for many food products.

The company thus now has double the space. It already had a print shop, confection area, warehouse, offices, laboratory (OTC), and repro center (ORC).
