Working together towards a digitally secure greenhouse horticulture cluster

The Cyber Resilience Centre Greenport has been launched. This initiative, made up of ten organizations - including Royal FloraHolland - is committed to a digitally secure horticulture cluster. Companies from the sector, such as production companies, breeders, trade, and supply chains, can join this Cyber Resilience Centre as participants. They will then receive help to improve their cyber security, including advice, help from cyber security experts, and threat information.

With the increasing digitization of horticulture and the rise of the Internet of Things, more and more business owners within the horticulture cluster are facing cyber incidents. The consequences for business owners are diverse and range from paying a ransom to regain access to one's own company network to the breakdown of facilities, thus jeopardizing business continuity. Due to the complex chain dependency of the greenhouse horticulture cluster (supply, cultivation, trade), the entire sector suffers when chain partners cannot deliver due to a cyber incident.

A digitally secure floriculture industry
Royal FloraHolland is committed to a digitally secure sector and is, therefore, one of the initiators of the Cyber Resilience Centre Greenport. Together with other companies and organizations, we are the 'Coalition of the doing.' On behalf of Royal FloraHolland, CIO André van der Linden signed the collaboration agreement. André van der Linden: "Digitization of the floriculture industry is high on our agenda. With digitization, we are connecting the chain, which brings with it huge opportunities and possibilities but also places higher demands on digital security. To become more resilient against digital crime as an industry, we need everyone's commitment. Only together will we ensure a digitally safe floriculture industry."

Place for counsel and practical advice.
The kick-off for the Cyber Resilience Centre Greenport took place on Friday morning, 7 October, at the HSD Campus in The Hague. At the kick-off, www.cwgreenport.nl was launched. This platform is the place where affiliated companies can find information on increasing their digital security, for instance, through counsel and practical advice, current and relevant (threat) information, raising awareness about digital security, and facilitating knowledge sharing and networking. Following this, attendees were able to gain direct experience of a cyber crisis. During a special cyber crisis exercise, participants gained insight into the various aspects involved in this type of crisis and how best to prepare for it.

Joint initiative
The Cyber Resilience Centre Greenport is an initiative by Delphy, Dutch Fresh Port, Royal FloraHolland, Glastuinbouw Nederland, Greenport West-Holland, GroentenFruit Huis, Hoogendoorn Automatisering, Interpolis-Achmea, Security Delta (HSD), the Digital Trust Centre, The Hague University of Applied Sciences and the Province of South Holland.
