Harvest of California chili peppers has kicked off

It's California chili pepper season and Progressive Produce is back with Jalapenos, Anaheim and Pasilla peppers.

“We’re excited about the quality of our crop this year,” says Gabriel Andrade, sales manager for Progressive Produce. “The plants are packed with beautiful, healthy, large-sized chili peppers to spice up your summer barbecues and bring the heat to summertime favorites like jalapeno potato nachos and grapefruit jalapeno margaritas.”

Progressive’s chili pepper program offers many packaging sizes and styles, including a 50-pound field pack and a 20-pound premium pack to avoid shrink. The locally grown crop comes directly from the field to Progressive's cold storage and distribution facility in La Mirada, CA.

After taking a bite from a jalapeno straight from the field, Andrade adds, “It doesn’t get any fresher than that.”
