New in-line fertilizer injection and irrigation unit showcased

GHBD Holland B.V., manufacturer and supplier of water treatment equipment for the horticultural and agricultural industry, introduces the new In-line fertilizer injection and irrigation unit.

Jan Wijgerse of GHBD Holland has years of experience in exporting this equipment to many countries and knows the conditions under which cultivation takes place.

"Injection systems for fertilizers are the standard in various markets,” says Jan. GHBD Holland responds to this. In addition, the in-line fertilizer injection units are used to provide small amounts of water and to regularly change recipes and concentrations. Quite difficult with a mixing tank unit, hence an injection unit. This unit is also extremely suitable for filling a day's supply tank.

Vortex mixing chamber
The in-line injection unit works with a stainless steel mixing chamber where the fertilizers and possibly acid or lye are injected by means of venturies. According to the Vortex principle, turbulence is created in the mixing chamber in which the fertilizers are dosed. Fertilizers and acid / lye remain in the mixing chamber for a certain period of time and thus mix optimally, so that the correct and stable EC and pH value of the irrigation water is guaranteed.

Injection module
The all-in-one injection module is unique, developed in close collaboration with a Dutch supplier of valves. Venturi, dosing valve, fine adjustment and non-return valve are integrated in one module. Assembly and maintenance is therefore very easy due to a minimum of parts. The injection module is adjustable from 0 to 600 liters / hour.

Irrigation units actually all look the same, a welded frame or a frame built from aluminum standard components. GHBD Holland, together with a constructor and designer, has examined this way of building. "We soon came to the conclusion that this can be done differently using new techniques such as laser cutting and computer-controlled typesetting. The result is a completely stainless steel unit with integrated injection modules and control cabinet. This gives the unit a short assembly and installation time. The whole has an industrial look".

The in-line version has a capacity of 4 to 30 m3 / hour, depending on the pressure. AB acid / lye dosing with two fertilizer recipes (AB1 and AB2) and is therefore extremely suitable for small and medium-sized companies. A bypass version will soon be available so that the capacity can be increased to above 100m3 / hour.

Standalone version
The GHBD Holland In-line fertilizer dosing and irrigation unit is supplied as a standalone unit as standard. The control is realized by a computer developed by Sercom control technology B.V. from Lisse. Sercom is a leading supplier of computers for horticulture, bulb cultivation and storage technology and has exclusively put together a system specifically for this unit for GHBD Holland.

It is of course possible to prepare the unit for other computer systems. The components of these systems are built in, so that the unit can be controlled and monitored by an existing process computer.

Installation and service
GHBD Holland does business with installers worldwide. These partners install the systems, provide user training and provide service and aftersales. “We don't have partners in all horticultural areas yet, so if anyone is interested, let us know” Jan says enthusiastically.

“A great product for a good price” says Jan proudly. Years of experience and the use of proven technology guarantee a perfectly functioning unit. The systems are easy to install and put into operation, “I'm used to that,” says Jan with a smile. "We can monitor our systems via the internet and thus support our end users and partners".

This in-line system is one of a series, as said a bypass version and a mixing tank system will follow shortly. The great thing is that all units are built from modules, which makes production easy. The supply pump and filter module are good examples of this. Enough challenges for the time being.

"The techniques we use are quite unique. We also sell the mixing chambers and dosing modules separately to installers who like to use these components in their own systems. Not a problem for us, after all, the entire horticulture industry benefits from the best techniques".
