The programme was inaugurated by the Director of Agriculture P.S. Rathore, in the presence of the Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension), Anil Arora and a number of progressive farmers from the Jammu region.

The Director of Agriculture stressed upon the farmers to go for production of exotic and high value vegetables under protected and controlled conditions to get round the year production for high returns. He advised them to explore full marketing potential/ e-marketing of specialised vegetable produce like Broccoli, Lettuce, Red Cabbage and Seedless Cucumbers.

Pertinent to mention that two hi-tech net sheds were set up last year under Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) on an area of 6000 m2, with the technical guidance of the Department of Agriculture at Panjore and Dab Karamdin of Block Marh. Another Net Shed, on an area of 4000 m2 area at the village of Panhotre Chak is also working successfully.
