New high wire cucumber hook reduces labor cost

There's a new 26mm long pre-wound hook, designed to reduce labour in cucumber crops. The longer drop with each turn of the hook can save two turns per year, meaning lower labour costs and fewer turns that could cause damage to vines.

Chris Aarts, owner of C & E, the maker of this hook, assures that tests have gone very well in the Netherlands. The hook will have no problem with crop weight.

Something Chris pointed out is that the hook can be wound with enough twine for two crops, meaning even bigger savings.

A.M.A. uses quality Lankhorst twines. You can choose your twine material, and if you choose Elite or compostable, choose the colour too.

Be sure to allow plenty of lead time on all pre-wound hook orders. To save even more money, order in early summer for late fall hooks.
