The Planning and Zoning Commission gave a positive 8-24 referral for the construction of a greenhouse at Lachat Town Farm at its meeting on Monday, Oct. 5.
According to Lachat Commission chairman Ellen McCormick, the P&Z approval took about 15 minutes.
McCormick is excited about this new development for Lachat and says the greenhouse will allow the farm to have small classes for children and grow seedlings that the farm can then sell, which will give Lachat some income.
The greenhouse will also extend Lachat’s growing season.
