More sad news: Also Dutch rose grower Steejo files for bankruptcy
More sad news from the Dutch rose sector: Dutch rose growers have to deal with difficult times. Not only Zuurbier & Co is facing financial difficulties, but also other Dutch rose growers like VOF Steejo are in difficulties. On October 15th Steejo went bankrupt. This has been announced by www.faillissementsdossier.nl. VOF Steejo was established in 1995 and was specialized in growing the rose species Avalanche+.
Zuurbier and Steejo are not the only rose growers in Holland that went bankrupt this year. In January, the 4,8 hectare rose grower Saris filed for bankruptcy. The tough competition from Africa, as well as a decrease in demand from Eastern Europe are named as one of the major problems in the sector.
