A Lahore-based agritech startup is making waves in Pakistan's agricultural sector by pioneering the country's first aeroponic farm.
Spurt Nova has developed advanced indoor vertical farming systems designed to produce more food using significantly less water and space than conventional agriculture. The approach is being positioned as a practical response to Pakistan's mounting food security challenges, including water scarcity and the pressure of a growing urban population.

The company recently announced a partnership with Jazz, a telecommunications provider, to bring aeroponic farming solutions to scale. The collaboration aims to combine digital infrastructure with smart agriculture technology, with the goal of making food production more efficient, climate-resilient, and accessible across the country.

While vertical farming has gained considerable traction in markets across East Asia, the Gulf, and Europe, Pakistan's entry into the space reflects a broader shift in how developing agricultural economies are approaching food production in the face of climate uncertainty. Aeroponic systems, which use no soil and require up to 95% less water than traditional methods, offer particular promise in water-stressed regions.
