NL: Saving time and labor with the new FlexFixer

In many nurseries, transplanting lines are still corrected manually, a labor-intensive, time-consuming, and costly process. The FlexFixer changes that.

This vision-guided machine automates the final step in transplanting by detecting and correcting missing plants. Here's how it works: Trays or packs move directly from the transplanting line into the FlexFixer. A top-mounted vision system scans for empty cells on the go. Meanwhile, a multi-axis robot collects healthy plugs from a donor tray, gently lifted from below. A second vision system checks which grippers hold plants, and the robot accurately fills only the empty cells.

Growers will gain several benefits, including the ability to fix up to 4,000 plugs per hour and seamless integration with any brand transplanting line. This setup leads to significant labor and time savings, as well as improved planting uniformity and quality.

The FlexFixer automates the last manual step in transplanting.
