The Weili Seedling Factory, located in Shandong, a major agricultural province in China, has recently ushered in the planting season, and 100,000 tomato seedlings are ready to go. The seedling greenhouse uses UPuper CB 100S rock wool growing cubes and an ebb and flow system for the hydroponic cultivation of tomato seedlings.
The facility covers more than 560 acres, with a planned construction area of nearly 400 acres in the first phase, mainly building 150 acres of semi-enclosed intelligent glass greenhouse and 76 acres of seedling greenhouse. It is expected to produce 80 million seedlings annually and an annual output value of over $ 12,000,000.
When asked why they chose UPuper rock wool substrate for tomato seedlings, the grower from Weili Seeds shared: "The UPuper rock wool cube has a film-free bottom design and a tidal irrigation method, which directly supplies the nutrient solution from the bottom to the roots, allowing the nutrient solution to be fully absorbed by the roots of the plants, thereby accurately controlling the supply of water and fertilizer and improving irrigation efficiency. More importantly, the grow cube is made of basalt melted at a high temperature of 1500°, which is pure and sterile, effectively reducing the risk of pests and diseases and ensuring the healthy growth of seedlings."
In addition, the high porosity and water management ability provide an ideal growth environment for the roots and promote rapid root development and efficient nutrient absorption, thus shortening the seedling raising cycle, enabling the seedlings to adapt to the new environment quickly after planting and showing a very high survival rate.
"We are deeply honored that UPuper not only provides high-quality products but also regularly sends professional planting consultants to provide us with personal guidance, giving us all-around support from product use to planting technology," the person from Weili Seedling Factory summarized.
