Avocado will be this year's star product

Four months before the event, Fruit Attraction already has an occupation of more than 90%

This year, Fruit Attraction -organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX- will be held in Madrid from October 8 to 10. The presentation of the fair's 16th edition was attended by José María Pozancos, director of FEPEX, and María José Sánchez, the director of the fair, stated that -four months before the start of the fair- it already had an occupation of more than 90%.

So far, 65,000 m² of the exhibition area have already been conferred, i.e. 39% more than in the same date of the previous year. The forecasts for the next edition are optimistic with participation figures that stand at 2,000 companies from 55 countries, more than 70,000 m² of fruit and vegetable offer, and the attendance of 100,000 professionals from 145 countries.

Practically all of Spain's production areas and autonomous communities have confirmed that they'll participate in the fair. 45 countries have also confirmed their participation, including new markets such as Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong, which demonstrates the firm commitment of the sector as a whole to the project in this edition of the fair.

Fruit Attraction 2024 will occupy, for the first time, ten pavilions of the IFEMA MADRID fairgrounds -from 1 to 10–, making the city a global epicenter for the marketing of fresh products. Fruit Attraction is well-known among operators and retailers worldwide as a place to present their innovation, quality, and diversity and plan their campaigns in a strategic moment: the month of October.

Specific areas
Under the slogan "Discover the essence of the sector", the great trade event of the fruit and vegetable sector will be organized around four exhibition areas. The Fresh Produce section will, again, be its largest section with all kinds of fruit and vegetable products. The Auxiliary Industry brings together the entire value chain of the sector, and the Fresh Food Logistics section is a space at the service of logistics, transport, and cold chain management for food. As a novelty, the fair is implementing the Innova&Tech section, a new area bringing together the Biotech Attraction and Smart Agro sectors. Innova&Tech will be a space for companies focusing on innovation, research, and technological development in plant genomics.

Avocado will be the star product this year, concentrating various initiatives around this superfood that has experienced significant growth in Spain in recent years, both in cultivation and exports. In addition to the Aguacate From Spain Congress, the fair will host other activities such as a cooking competition promoted by Daniel del Toro between students from Spanish hospitality schools, different workshops, and demonstrations.

In its upcoming edition, the fair will continue implementing initiatives to promote the exhibiting companies' sales, promotion, development, and growth. The Guest Importing Countries initiative, which has China and Saudi Arabia as protagonists, is again part of the powerful International Buyers Program. It will favor commercial relations between EU countries and non-EU markets, covered by a complete program of round tables, guided visits to the fair, and B2B sessions.

Once again, the Innovation Hub and Fruit Next will be the areas dedicated to innovation and business innovations in the sector. The fair will host the Innovation Hub Awards again, which have become a fundamental event to support the sector's entrepreneurial commitment.

As a novelty, Fruit Attraction will award the Best Stand Awards; recognizing the exhibition spaces that stand out at the fair for their creativity and design in any of three categories: autonomous communities and institutions; countries and regions, and companies.

The fair will hold a complete program of technical conferences and activities that will make it the center of knowledge for the sector, with some sessions characterized by a great diversity of content, and a high level of participants and speakers. Fruit Attraction will host the Grape Attraction, Biofruit Congress, and Fresh Food Logistics The Summit congresses.

In addition, the fair will once again have its Factoria Chef gastronomic space with attractive demonstrations and showcookings; a unique scenario to promote garden producers in the international channel to underline the quality and excellence of these foods and their infinite consumption possibilities.

The fair incorporates some initiatives to facilitate the participation of professionals such as the premium card or exclusive restaurant spaces for exhibitors. In addition, Fruit Attraction is committed to the Madrid Metro as the recommended transport.
