Empowering the next generation of growers

Yayasan Bina Tani Sejahtera (YBTS) and Enza Zaden have partnered to enhance agricultural productivity and quality in Oebelo Village, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. This initiative is part of the Let's Grow! project, supported by the Ganesha Foundation, Switzerland, aimed at equipping young growers with the skills and confidence to pursue agriculture as a main occupation.

Recently, team members Sheryl Leao (Regional Marketing Manager - Southeast Asia) and Ahn Nguyen (Global Portfolio Manager) visited the YBTS-assisted growers to observe and contribute to the project's progress. Led by Rika Bhernike Sitepu and Tio Ruth Octania from YBTS, these young growers have received intensive training in modern agriculture techniques and sustainable business management.

Highlights of the field visit:

  • Hands-on training: Young growers received insights on advanced agricultural technologies and business management from our experts.
  • Engagement with growers: Direct interaction with growers to understand their current practices and provide tailored advice.
  • Business insights: Lovian Andriani Sinambela shared crucial aspects of cost management, profit analysis, and market strategies to help growers thrive.

"The enthusiasm and positive changes observed during this visit have reinforced our commitment to supporting youth in agriculture. With continued guidance and support, these young growers are more determined than ever to make agriculture a promising career," the Enza Zaden team says.
