Michel Testault from Richel passed away

It is with deep sadness that the team of Richel has learned of the passing of Michel Testault on May 27, 2024. Michel Testault was important to the company and the industry as a whole: With his creative mind, adaptability, and perseverance, he brought many important novelties to the greenhouse sector.

"We were fortunate to know Michel for many years as he worked with us for 33 years within the group, first as Production Manager from 1973 to 1989, then as Head of the Design Office from 1989 to 2004, and finally overseeing the transition

In the picture, Michel is the man with the black Tee-shirt. In his right, Christian Richel.

Michel actively contributed and was the originator of many innovations. He was instrumental in the transition between the 60mm round and the 60mm OV, a design different from all existing oval tubes on the market, which allowed for the optimization of the new range of greenhouses in sizes 6.40m, 8m, and 9.60m. Michel also pioneered the beam gutter, enabling Richel to conquer the snow zones of France and northern Europe with complete confidence. His work on the retractable roof greenhouse further showcased his innovative spirit. Additionally, he played an important role in the development of the glass greenhouse range, specifically the Venlo, following the acquisition of Marchegay in 2001.

"Brilliant engineer, exemplary manager, he was a trusted man appreciated by all", Christian adds. "He embodied the values that allowed Richel to become the leader in its market: creativity and constant desire for innovation, rigor, and adaptability. There are not many people who are able to successfully embody the role of Production Manager during 15 years and then to become Head of the Design Office for another 15years."

The Richel family, Antoine Garofano, as well as all the employees of the group who knew him, join this message to offer their most sincere condolences to Marie France, his wife, and his family. Thank you, Michel 🕊️
