VBT figures week 21

Belgium: Cucumber prices remain at an exceptionally high level

The already high cucumber price on the VBT clocks has risen slightly again in week 21, resulting in an average price of just over 66 euro cents per piece. That's more than twice the 'normal' amount. Tomato prices are currently in line with the 'normal', the five-year average, and are around 50 euro cents per kilo.

Loose tomatoes recorded a price of 48.6 euro cents per kilo throughout week 21, and cluster tomatoes 51.7 euro cents per kilo.

Bell pepper prices fell last week to just above that five-year average, when lumping all colors together. The price for green went up slightly to 1.33 euros. Yellow and especially red saw a decrease in price, with yellow at 1.20 and red at 1.57 euros rounded as kilo prices.

The average price for strawberries climbed a bit last week, after recent price drops. The average kilo price for week 21 is rounded to 4.17 euros. Elsanta is quoted at 4.14 euros rounded and Sonsation at 4.74 euros.
