"distinctive with performance, light transmission and diffusivity"

New glass brand for horticulture launched

Glascom International is launching a new glass brand on the market: VitroBright. "In addition to the performance of the glass, we want to distinguish ourselves by providing advice to growers, consultants, and greenhouse builders. The ultimate goal is of course, the highest possible yield for the grower," says Ramon Bruers, who has been responsible for all commercial activities of Glascom International since May. That company will supply the new VitroBright glass brand exclusively to players in the global greenhouse industry. "The glass will be distinctive for its performance in terms of light transmission and diffusivity."

Trends in the horticultural glass market
Today's trends on the horticultural glass market are characterized by the highest possible light transmission and diffusivity. "With VitroBright, we can offer the total package, such as diffused glass in various variants, with or without AR coatings", says Ramon. "In addition to the fixed range, all 'specialties' can also be supplied. The products come with official test reports from Wageningen University & Research."

"Thanks to exclusive cooperation with a number of A-suppliers, the quality of VitroBright Glass can be guaranteed," he adds. "Each selected supplier has proven itself on delivery reliability and has experience in supplying glass for horticulture. This allows Glascom International to meet all the conditions demanded from the horticultural industry, such as: tolerances, transport packaging, and delivery conditions."

Collaborations and experience
Multiple suppliers are being used to supply the new glass brand. "This allows us to provide flexibility and speed in addition to a wide range of products with competitive prices." In addition, more than 45 years of glass experience is being used to develop innovative types of glass under the VitroBright brand. "This could include even higher light transmission, energy savings, or higher diffusivity."

Unburdening and ever-expanding projects
New-build greenhouse projects are becoming increasingly large worldwide, and greenhouse builders are expected (in addition to delivering the greenhouse on a turnkey basis) to think along more and more, for example, about yield per m2 and sales market. Glascom International is able to unburden the customers with all requested types of glass. Ramon: "The total greenhouse projects are becoming larger and more extensive. As a result, we want to relieve our customers of their glass worries so that they can focus on other facets. Unburdening regardless of the size of the project is one of our core values. No project is too big and no project is too small."

Local Chinese team
In addition to a good and reliable product, Glascom International BV wants to distinguish itself by unburdening the customer. Important here is being close to the supplier and organizing transport and export documentation well locally. "Through a local Chinese team and good partners, we can manage this process better."
