Vegetable cultivation greenhouse nearing completion in Vinnytsia region, Ukraine

In the village of Vinnytsia region, Ukraine, the construction of a 16,000-square-meter greenhouse is nearing completion. Owner Alexander Hudyma disclosed that the greenhouse, intended for vegetable cultivation, was funded through government grants. The grant, approved last year by the Ministry of Economy under the "eWork" program, allocated 7 million from the state and a personal contribution of 5 million. Hudyma stated that while the grants cover material expenses, the remaining costs are privately financed. Approximately 90-95% of the construction is completed, with 16 out of 32 greenhouses already operational.

Local agronomist Vitaliy Kachalka revealed that the greenhouses will cultivate cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers, with current activities focusing on radish harvesting and green onion excavation. Following the radish harvest, cucumbers will be planted. Maintaining a constant temperature of 25 degrees Celsius is crucial for cucumber growth, with supplementary heating provided during colder evenings.

Hudyma has been involved in vegetable cultivation for five years, designating 20 hectares for gardening this year. The selling season typically spans from spring to autumn, but with the introduction of greenhouses, year-round cultivation becomes feasible.
