Inhouse Farming show set for 2nd edition

After its premiere in 2023, the "Inhouse Farming - Feed & Food Show" will this year open its doors for the second time from 12 to 15 November in Hanover. The B2B meeting place of the DLG (German Agricultural Society) takes place as part of EuroTier, the world's leading trade fair for professional animal farming and livestock management.

Closely networked with agricultural practice, "Inhouse Farming 2024" offers specialist information, innovations and business - from feed to food. The focus is on alternative proteins. It's the perfect complement to the world's leading trade fair, EuroTier, and EnergyDecentral, the leading international platform for decentralised energy supply, which will take place at the same time, offering new perspectives and business models for the entire value chain. The registration phase for exhibitors has started.

Global food security through new agricultural production systems is one of the central tasks of the future. In the context of climate change, resource and production efficiency and advancing digitalization, intelligent strategies for sustainable, technology-based food production are in demand. With the continuing population growth, the global demand for protein will double by 2050, according to estimates by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. Alternative protein sources for the agricultural and food sector are in demand and a key topic at the "Inhouse Farming - Feed & Food Show 2024". That's because innovative, modern players from the agricultural and food sector are taking on a pioneering role - from raw material suppliers to end customers. The DLG's new B2B platform offers a comprehensive overview of the market and developments in plant-based, fermented and cultured proteins and products for human and animal nutrition.

The use of state-of-the-art biotechnology now enables scalable and sustainable premium-quality protein production. In addition to bioreactors for fungi and microalgae, relevant technologies relating to indoor farming, insect farming, cellular agriculture, aquaculture and aquaponics will also be presented at "Inhouse Farming 2024". Forward-looking energy concepts are also an important topic - for exhibitors and in the accompanying technical programme, which once again focuses strongly on interaction and deepens the diverse synergies with EnergyDecentral. Many of the projects discussed in Hanover from 12 to 15 November will combine the production of alternative proteins with the integrated use of all secondary streams for the production of other raw materials. The goal: To create closed, cost-efficient and resource-saving cycles along the value chain. The international trade public's need for information on these future topics is enormous, as the premiere of "Inhouse Farming" last year impressively demonstrated.

The transformation of the agriculture and food sector is in full swing. A wide range of options should be considered for forward-looking management," says Prof Nils Borchard, Head of Research and Innovation at the DLG Competence Center Agriculture. Solutions that are fit for the future only work as integrated systems.
