Ukrainian agroholdings plan installation of greenhouses

Greenhouse projects, ranging from 1 hectare, are currently being developed within agroholdings, revealed Leonid Chebanov, head of the laboratory for greenhouse construction and reconstruction at Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture.

Discussions about these plans intensified in late 2023, primarily driven by medium and large agroholdings with access to raw materials for biomethane and bioethanol, as well as alternative energy sources like biogas and surplus heat.

These developments are also influenced by decisions regarding biomethane and bioethanol production in Europe.

Major agricultural companies are actively exploring additional business avenues, such as growing seedlings for open-field vegetables and producing fruits, berries, and organic vegetables in greenhouses.
