Temporary suspension of greenhouse work in the Khmelnytskyi region of Ukraine due to the mobilization

The mobilization of labor in the Khmelnytskyi region has temporarily halted operations at a 500-square-meter greenhouse intended for seedling cultivation this year.

Funding for this new greenhouse comes from a grant of approximately 20,000 euros from a charitable foundation.

Yuriy Melnyk, Director of the municipal enterprise 'Theofipollisvod,' attributed the suspension of construction on a new greenhouse to the mobilization of installation specialists. He stated: "The greenhouse remains idle, but we are promised to send builders to complete it. We planned to plant greenhouse cucumbers before Easter."

The grant for the new greenhouse installation has conditions, including the employment of locals and the donation of 10% of the equipment's value worth of grown vegetables to the community.

Meanwhile, activities proceed in the first greenhouse, constructed last year with grant funds. Currently, aubergine seeds are being sown, with plans for early and late cabbage, cauliflower, various tomato varieties, zucchini, and cucumbers.
