For several years, Ron Peters (owner of Future Growing) has been using the cleaning agent Fersol to clean his experimental greenhouses. According to him, this cleaning agent leads to "extraordinary results" and therefore he promotes the product to other growers. He does so as a consultant - and cultivation specialist dealer for Ferr-Tech.
The product Fersol had been used in other sectors before Ron started using the product. Examples of these include the chemical industry, the dairy industry, and even wastewater treatment. In these sectors, the oxidizing product is used for water purification.
Experimental garden Future Growing has conducted trials for Fersol's manufacturer for several years. In this garden, Fersol is used daily and as such contributes to knowledge about the product's usage. "This knowledge is provided when Fersol is requested or ordered. Users are thus informed and kept up to date firsthand,” emphasizes Ron.
Thoroughly cleaned
In the greenhouse industry, Fersol is used for cleaning greenhouses rather than water disinfection. In recent months, many growers have been introduced to the product. “I know various pepper growers who have started using Fersol. In pepper cultivation, there are problems with Fusarium Oxysporum.”
This winter, these growers have cleaned their greenhouses more thoroughly using the contact agent Fersol. “They started to increase the intensity and frequency of greenhouse cleaning rounds.” In addition, some growers have also adjusted their crop rotation protocol.
Moreover, Ron and manufacturer Ferr-tech are amazed by the quick embrace of the product abroad. “Users experience it as a safe, and highly profitable alternative to other means.”
Usage instructions
When using Fersol, it is important to follow the instructions for usage as well as being aware of contact effects, emphasizes Ron. “That means, clean your pump and pipes well after use, and employees who work with the agent should wear protective clothing, and machines and equipment should be immediately cleaned after the use of Fersol. That's just common sense.”
Growers can apply the agent well between two crop rotations, in addition to the major crop rotation at the end of the season. Ron sees a wide range of applications. “If necessary you can start planting a day after Fersol usage, that's possible. Therefore, I focus on selling this new cleaning agent to non-Dutch growers with many crop rotations.”
