Patrick Groeneveld as managing director of Horticoop

Effective November 1, 2023, Patrick Groeneveld has been appointed as Managing Director of Horticoop. With Patrick Groeneveld at the helm, the cooperative will embark on a new stage characterized by investment in businesses that enhance the expertise, network, and growth possibilities within horticulture.

Groeneveld, who has over 16 years of experience as an investor in agrifood businesses and has fulfilled various advisory and management roles in the course of his career, is a familiar figure within the industry. Among other things, he has worked at Rabo Capital and as a managing partner of Nordian Capital. Groeneveld subsequently became managing partner and co-founder of Victus Participaties, a private investment fund investing growth capital in healthy and well-managed companies in the agrifood value chain. In his role as an investor, Groeneveld has guided many businesses in their ongoing development and growth, and as a result, he also has access to the relevant international network within the horticultural sector.

Patrick Groeneveld will succeed Steven van Nieuwenhuijzen, who has headed Horticoop's transition from a procurement cooperative to an investment cooperative over the last two years. Groeneveld's expertise will now further strengthen Horticoop's robust foundation, ensuring that the cooperative is poised for future-proof investments in the horticultural industry.
