Shymkent Mayor Gabit Syzdykbekov met with investors from Turkey, the renowned company Alarko Holding, boasting 30 years of market experience. The company expressed its intention to invest $650 million in the city to construct a unique greenhouse complex covering 200 hectares. This unprecedented project, implemented in phases, will be a giant leap for Shymkent.
The massive complex will be established in the agro-industrial zone in the residential area of Martobe, with plans for additional greenhouse complexes. The agro-complex, capable of producing 40,000 tons of produce annually, will cultivate various crops, including cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, and peas. At full capacity, the greenhouse structure will employ around a thousand people. The agricultural produce will primarily serve the city's residents and supply other regions of the country and beyond.
"I express gratitude for your interest in implementing significant projects in our city. Every investor is important to us. We are ready to provide you with maximum support. Currently, work is underway to allocate suitable land plots for state needs. Favorable conditions will be created for the complex's construction, and the agro-industrial zone will be equipped with the necessary infrastructure," said the city's mayor. Construction of the greenhouse complex will commence next year. The investment project aims to provide local residents with quality food products and stabilize prices.
