Investor withdraws ambitious plans:

And gone is the giant greenhouse project in the Groß-Gerau district

After a refusal from the Darmstadt regional council, investor Jirko Stiller has put his plans for a new greenhouse on hold for the time being. This brings the negotiations to an end, some 1.5 years after the concept was first presented.

Jirko Stiller and his "Klostergut Vegetable Ltd" wanted to raise 30 million euros to build a large greenhouse in the area near Riedstadt.

There, he wanted to grow, among other things, peppers, lettuces, and cucumbers, hoping to supply them to the region's markets. For Stiller, it was a sensible project, but among environmental associations, his concept was controversial from the start.
