Green, even more green, will it be houses or greenhouses in Harmelerwaard?

Lots of green and some houses, or room for horticulture? The future of the Harmelewaard polder was discussed in Harmelen. RTV Utrecht reported on the meeting where three options were presented: more nature instead of the current 200 hectares of greenhouses, even more nature and even fewer houses, or reuse of greenhouses and also space for horticultural development.

Growers in the area are hoping for clarity soon. Horticultural consultant Wout van der Heijden indicates: "If you don't know what the future holds for you, you won't make investments in your business either. Because you don't make an investment for one year, but for many years."
