Thailand set to export 4.4 million tons of fresh & processed fruits in 2023

Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce has set the target for the export of fresh and processed fruits at 4.44 million tons, an increase of 10% from the previous year. Durian, in particular, is being targeted.

Under the fruit management and export plan for 2023 reported to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and other concerned agencies from both public and private sectors have worked together to come up with a total of 22 proactive measures.

These measures will help solve the fruit price problem and shortage in quantity, as well as achieve export targets covering four aspects, namely, production, domestic marketing, seeking new markets abroad, and negotiation with trade partners to minimize fruit export obstacles.
