Energy prices forcing NA growers to look to Europe for energy saving possibilities

Energy is one of, if not the biggest, challenge for commercial greenhouse and indoor growers today. Rising prices and fluctuations make it increasingly difficult for growers to stay in business and to continue planting new crop cycles as expected.

Energy rates in North America, where energy was previously considered relatively cheap, have risen dramatically over the past year. So, while growers in Europe have grown accustomed to this over several years, many American and Canadian farmers are just now being hit with the importance of efficiency.

Fortunately, growers in Canada and the U.S. don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Many are already looking to growers in Europe for an example of how they can save energy without compromising on cultivation.
