Robert Vollebregt starts at Delphy as tomato and sweet pepper consultant

Robert Vollebregt, a native son of Bleiswijk horticulturists, will start at Delphy in 2023 as a tomato and pepper consultant. Robert: "Together with my father and brother, we grew tomatoes for years. After my brother and I took over the garden, we switched to growing peppers. We did this for 14 years, and then I got back into tomatoes."

As his own entrepreneur, Robert has gained a lot of experience in the world of horticulture. In recent years, he has worked for other horticulturists, which has certainly broadened his view. He would like to use that knowledge in his new role as a consultant at Delphy.

Robert: "As a consultant, I like to help get the maximum return from a crop. This is not just setting the climate computer but also looking at fertilization, energy, crop protection, and labor, among other things. Cultivation is an interplay of different elements that must be well coordinated to achieve the best result."

He says the agricultural sector is an innovative sector subject to many changes and outside influences. He concludes, "I like the challenge of sparring with the grower about this and arriving at the best solution together."
