New trial for high-wire cucumber cultivation starts: What does the trial look like?

At trial center Botany a new trial with high-wire cucumber cultivation has started. In the first episode of a video trilogy, the project partners share the kick-off and setup of the new trial. How can growers grow good-quality, year-round cucumbers that are more energy-efficient? Project leader Frank Huijs of trial center Botany and Erik Stappers of lighting expert Signify tell all about it in this video by BASF Vegetable Seeds and Mertens.

With this trial, researchers will examine how to save as much energy as possible by testing three cucumber varieties under different light intensities. How much fuel enters the greenhouse? Where does this energy go? And what light intensities have the desired effects?
