Crop Health Vision, part of a Dutch Health Consortium, has introduced Croptimum, an innovative and highly effective plant activator based on purified plant molecules. "This product perfectly plays into the contemplation of today's growers," says Regnier ten Haaf, who joined CHV in December 2022.
"These days, growers are looking closer to the relationship between growing more sustainable and having a more profitable yield in relation to plant health. Resilience and vigor of the plant and more efficient roots are the healthy foundation to build on."
In horticulture for over 20 years
For the first couple of years after graduating at HAS in Deventer, Regnier was busy running farms in Africa and the Caribbean. Growing different crops under different conditions and adapting to different cultures determined his penchant for horticulture in large part.
For the last 20 years, Regnier has worked for several companies supplying solutions for the horticultural Industry around the globe. Exploring new markets, discovering the "real" need for "local" markets, building teams abroad and, creating trust between head & local sales offices, and always carefully listening to the customers runs like a thread through his career.
"Understanding the growers' needs is key to finding acceptance of new products in the market. Every grower has a question about your product about how this will work/perform in their situation, and they always will have "one more question" which we have to answer to create trust."
In many cases, growers have more knowledge about knowing what's best for their unique situation, says Regnier. "We also don't pretend we know it all. But if there is mutual trust, there is always a solution that works. We acknowledge that growers know best what they want and how they want it. We must know how to deliver our services and give the best support to the grower and how to measure results. Having this all settled, the treated plants will show and tell you the rest of our story: Creating added value to growers around the world by offering solutions and sharing knowledge together with our local teams to create more profitability for growers."

Dutch office
From the CHV main office in Honselersdijk, The Netherlands, and supported by local teams in Spain, Italy, Kenya, Colombia, and Ecuador, CHV goes out to visit growers and explain their stories.

The CHV team is building up more and more scientific data on a wide range of fruits and vegetable crops together with both research stations and commercial growers. Regnier is sure that it is only a matter of time before Croptimum will become a standard activator, which growers will add to their existing programs.
