In the 2021/2022 campaign, Almeria exported 319.8 million kilos of zucchini and was Spain's leading zucchini-exporting province, accounting for 82.62% of the 386.42 million kilos of zucchini that Spain exported.
Despite having exported 44.16 million kilos or 12.15% less volume than in the previous campaign, the province achieved a record 380.2 million euros for its exports, as the product achieved its best price of the last ten years, which stood at an average of €1.19/kg, according to data from the Estacom statistical service (Icex-Tax Agency) prepared by Hortoinfo.
Last year, Valencia was the second-biggest zucchini exporting province after exporting 14.2 million kilos of zucchini, accounting for 3.67% of the Spanish total, for a value of 21.95 million euro and an average price of €1.54/kg.
Murcia ranked third with 13.16 million kilos worth 15.15 million euros and an average price of €1.15/kg.
The province of Alicante ranked fourth after exporting 10.79 million kilos of zucchini in this campaign for 15.5 million euros and an average price of €1.44/kg.
Barcelona ranked fifth with 9.04 million kilos of zucchini exported for 10.61 million euros and an average price of €1.17/kg.
