Planet Farms, a vertical farm based in Italy, announces two the appointment of Mara Lucilla Valsecchi and Marco Bordoli as the new CEO and President of Planet Farms Italy, respectively.
Though, it doesn't stop there. The newly appointed additions will guide Planet Farms' expansion toward the establishment of the new research and development center adjacent to the Cavenago di Brianza plant. This new farm in Cirimido will be about 50 percent larger than the 10.000m2 farm in Cavenago. Meaning the new farm would be more than 15,000m2.
This will lead the company to explore new potentials of vertical farming in the food sector and beyond, as well as increasingly efficient production techniques. In addition to strengthening production capacity on the Italian territory, the company is developing a path of growth internationally, with the opening of new plants and research centers abroad.
Mara Lucilla Valsecchi comes to Planet Farms after a long career in the food sector, first in GBFoods and Pellini Caffè in the sales and marketing division, then as General Manager in Piatti Freschi Italia. She now accepts the challenge of vertical farming by taking on the role of CEO for Italy to carry on Planet Farms' expansion project.
"I am really proud to be able to provide my experience and energy to achieve such an important goal together, which for me does not simply represent a commercial challenge, but a concrete commitment to contribute to the longevity of this Planet and build a more sustainable future, from an environmental, social and economic point of view," says Valsecchi.
