"Further scale-up and consolidation in international horticulture by 2023"

Jerry van Leent and Lars van Marrewijk have joined Yeald's team. The company, active in management and business guidance in real estate, finance, mergers, and acquisitions, continues to grow and expects the global horticulture sector to show further scale-up and consolidation in 2023.

Yeald's team now totals 18 people with specialisms in M&A, finance, strategy, and real estate.

Despite the current challenges in Dutch horticulture, mostly driven by the energy crisis, the Yeald team sees clients pressing ahead with their strategy. They also see an acceleration in international horticulture. "This offers opportunities for both our Dutch clients and our international clients. The global horticulture and fresh produce sector demands scale and professionalization, which leads to consolidation and economies of scale."

Yeald expects this consolidation and increases in scale, both in the Netherlands and internationally, to continue in 2023. Jerry, as Register Valuator and M&A analyst, joined the team for this purpose.

Jerry and Lars

Jerry van Leent
Jerry van Leent, from merger and acquisition firm Van Oers Corporate Finance, is a professional with some 12 years of M&A experience. With this, he strengthens the M&A team as Director of M&A and Register Valuator.

Jerry's roots are in the Westland region. He is a son of horticulturists who first, through Hotelschool The Hague, started exploring the international world of hospitality. After various experiences abroad, Jerry decided to further deepen his knowledge in the financial field by following a Master's in Finance at Nyenrode Business University.

Jerry started his career at Van Oers Corporate Finance in Breda, part of Van Oers Accountancy & Advies, an organization with five branches and 450 professionals. Here, as manager and together with an M&A team of 10 people, Jerry was responsible for around thirty to forty national and international transactions per year.

Given the rapid developments within horticulture, Jerry decided to return to his roots, the Westland. This is also where he lives. At Yeald, he will apply his professional knowledge, network, and love for the sector in an even more focused way.

Complex and, in some situations, independent valuation issues increasingly underlie a merger and takeover issue. Jerry is registered in the Register of Register Valuators, which allows Yeald to help entrepreneurs in-house with valuation issues.

Lars van Marrewijk
Lars van Marrewijk, coming from Agium, where he worked ad interim at Schiphol, is a young professional and thus strengthens the M&A team as an analyst M&A.

Lars graduated from the Rotterdam School of Management with an MSc. Strategic Management. After his one-year stint in a financial position at Schiphol Airport, he noticed that the (international) horticultural world is the environment where he can realize his ambitions for the customer, Yeald, and himself.

Raised in Westland, Lars has already learned a lot from the (international) horticultural world over the years.
